GLN International announced that it has officially launched a QR-based cross-border payment service between Vietnam and South Korea in cooperation with Vietnam's BIDV and NAPAS, and Hana Bank.

This service connects the payment infrastructure between the two countries, allowing South Korean and Vietnamese users to utilize QR payments in the partner country using their respective financial apps or e-wallets. Through this, convenient payments have become possible in a familiar manner without the need for separate currency exchange or new payment methods abroad.

In particular, based on the VIETQRGlobal network across Vietnam, payments can be made at over hundreds of thousands of merchants, and its utility is expected to expand in various fields such as tourism, retail, and services. This cooperation is highly significant in that it goes beyond simple payment functions and establishes a foundation for connecting the digital financial ecosystems of the two countries.

In this project, NAPAS, Vietnam's national payment infrastructure, BIDV, a major financial institution, and Hana Bank and GLN on the South Korean side participated to link the payment and settlement systems between the two countries. As a global payment network platform, GLN plays a role in connecting Korean financial services with overseas payment infrastructures.

Both companies plan to promote the expansion of two-way payment services and expand services to major Asian countries in the future, thereby accelerating the establishment of a global QR payment network.

This QR payment service is expected to serve as an important turning point in promoting a cashless payment environment while contributing to the vitalization of tourism and commerce.
